FULLTIME CARE

OBJECTIVES:

We understand and value the uniqueness of individual children as well as individual age groups, and will focus on specific age appropriate activities:

  • Infants learn through senses and will be stimulated by touching, feeling, tasting, smelling, and hearing throughout the day.  Some daily activities will include story time, outdoor play, observing other babies and cheerful caregivers, and listening to music and nursery rhymes.

  • Toddlers will be encouraged to practice independence like learning to use the potty and wash their hands.  They will work on developing fine motor skills such as holding crayons and utensils correctly, building with blocks; and gross motor skills like walking, running, jumping, and swinging.  Children will also be encouraged to start using words to express their feelings, wants, and needs as language will typically be developing rapidly during this period.

  • Preeschoolers will begin perfecting their motor skills; becoming skillful artists- drawing, coloring, and painting, building and manipulating small objects such as legos and puzzles, kicking and throwing balls on the playground, etc...  This age group will also be challenged to broaden their vocabulary, learning new words daily, and they will learn to think for themselves and be individually creative.  We will guide them to practive playing well with their peers; taking turns, sharing, and developing caring and loving habits.
